There are various types of buses in Nairobi. Hackney buses which are unsafe and can be attacked by thugs (according to my car driver, Peter). I also read a newspaper account of thugs that attacked passengers with machetes and stole their valuables. There are other buses, that professionals ride and I assume are more expensive, that are safe.
